There are a number of announcements in the analytical space, around the preview of Apache based solutions on AKS; public preview of Apache Flink with Azure HDInsight on AKS, Sneak Peek into Trino with Azure HDInsight on AKS, and then two articles that show how to use these services to build modern data architectures: Build medallion architecture using Apache Flink, Trino with Microsoft Fabric and HDInsight on AKS and Realize Lakehouse using best of breed of Open source using HDInsight.

Two more analytics posts: the Microsoft Fabric roadmap has been unveiled, and a really interesting new de-identification service for Health and Life Sciences; a more generic version of this service is needed for other industries. Two other interesting articles: Quick-Start Guide to Azure Private Endpoints with AKS & Storage and Optimize Log Ingestion and Access in Microsoft Sentinel.

This week my new Surface Laptop Studio 2 corrupted on reboot, locked me out of Windows Hello so that I couldn't log in, and this forced me to repave the machine, fortunately Entra (AAD) had a back-up of my Bitlocker key. I'd highly recommend ensuring you have a back-up of your Bitlocker key, just in case this type of situation every happens to you! Well worth your time!
