Azure Weekly

Issue #478 - 4th August 2024

First up, Barry Smart's SQLBits 2024 talk Microsoft Fabric and Data Mesh - a perfect fit? is available to watch. It also contains a full transcript for those who prefer to read. Kevin Chant has a new post on CI/CD for Microsoft Fabric Data Warehouses using GitHub Actions.

It's always a good idea to keep you Azure costs under control. Gregor Wohlfarter has a new post showing how to identify your savings potential in Azure. Seneca Friend announces that Windows 365 GPU-enabled Cloud PCs now generally available, and for their 500th episode (congratulations on that milestone!) the Azure Podcast team discuss the new ARM Cobalt 100 Processor.

Two storage related posts: Aung Oo writes Embrace the future of container native storage with Azure Container Storage, and Utsav Raghuvanshi announces the General Availability: Vaulted backups for Azure Blob Storage.

Finally, to celebrate the 10th anniversary of Azure Weekly, we've given the website a rebrand and refresh. I wanted to highlight that as well as the email newsletter, you can subscribe to the RSS feed, follow us on X via @azureweekly and as of this week, we're also publishing updates to Bluesky, follow us on @azureweekly.endj.in. And to celebrate Power BI Weekly's 5th anniversary, we've also given that a rebrand and refresh too, and you can also follow @powerbiweekly.endj.in on Bluesky. If you enjoy either newsletter, please share with your colleagues or give us a RT!
