Azure Weekly Issue 60: 24th January 2016

This week, Azure announced price reductions of up to 17% on D Series VMs.

There's a new version of the Microsoft Azure Storage Explorer preview, which is now available for Linux. Other new features include the ability to attach storage accounts with custom endpoints, attach blob containers with a SAS key, and view and edit blob metadata.

Account SAS now supports all storage services, including Azure Table Storage and Queue Storage. Account SAS was introduced as a more secure alternative storage account keys.

Operational Management Suite (OMS) has introduced support for the Azure RemoteApp (ARA) service. This supports scenarios such as helping make decisions on billing plans based on in-session performance and troubleshooting in-session performance after deployment.

The Azure Automation team have announced the Azure Automation PowerShell ISE add-on, a new, open-source tool for runbook authoring.

Zend Z-Ray (a PHP debugging solution) for Azure App Service is now in general availability.

Azure Site Recovery (ASR) enhanced VMware to Azure functionality is now in general availability.

Finally, there's a reminder from Steve Guggenheimer that Build 2016 Registration opens on Jan 19.
